This vast premises, wedged between prestigious hotels on the Avenue Kléber, is located very close to the Place de l'Etoile in Paris. The place should be able to accommodate permanent fashion collections, exhibitions, performances, and other events. The volumes are totally open. The partitioning is materialized by the racks and furniture, mounted on casters. The removal of the old façade and lining panels has allowed us to update the strata of past occupations. We had our raw material. The raw texture of these old stone walls to which the remains of old wallpaper and mouldings cling. The existing mezzanine is also removed to regain the original ceiling height of more than 7 metres. The stripping is total and becomes the real luxury in this overcrowded environment. The contrast with the carved ashlar façade is striking. This claim of the place as a heritage is counterbalanced by a system of furniture with industrial plastic, notable for its metalwork. A rigorous composition of frames, displays, supports and light rails is multiplied by a large wall of mirrors articulating the access to the first floor. The ensemble responds by stylistic breaks and reflections, giving this space an identity close to the collections it hosts: contemporary and urban.
